The Dance Leveled Program is designed for students ages 7-18 who are interested in recreational dance as an extra-curricular activity. This program offers classes in ballet, pointe, dance technique, jazz, hip hop, and tap for beginner thru advanced students.

Ballet
Ballet is the foundation of all dance.....Ballet classes are recommended for all students that want to take dance classes for any length of time. Lessons include classroom etiquette, proper technique, dance and stage terminology, and developing the strength and coordination needed for all types of dance. Barre, center, and across the floor exercises will be taught that will improve strength, self-discipline, and grace that can be used throughout the rest of one’s life.

Pointe
A student must meet certain criteria of age, strength, and ability to enroll in this class. Pointe class is the ultimate challenge, and students need several years of ballet training before dancing on pointe. Dancers are required to take ballet classes in addition to pointe class to maintain their control and technique. Students will learn proper strengthening exercises, barre, center, and traveling combinations.

Dance Technique

In the dance technique class, students are taught disciplines that will help them become a well-rounded dancer. This class focuses on building and enhancing the dancer’s strength, flexibility, and technique. Students will be introduced to and taught jazz technique and terminology which will enhance their body placement, jumps, leaps, turns and overall stage performance and presence.

Hip Hop
This class is designed for students who want to explore the latest age-appropriate music and dance moves seen in the media while receiving instruction in jazz to ensure proper body placement and flexibility. This class includes street style hip hop dance while incorporating jazz jumps, leaps, and turns allowing students to form their own hip hop style. This fun filled class is very popular among all young dancers.

Tap

This high-energy class is for students who want to explore the rhythms of tap dancing while ensuring a well-rounded dance experience. This class teaches classic tap steps and terminology while enhancing coordination, musical awareness, and rhythm. Classes are designed to motivate the student to create rhythms and combinations using sound and imagination.

Adult Dance Combo

Our Adult Dance class is perfect for any busy adult on the move. During the hour we spend time stretching, conditioning, and of course dancing! A variety of dance disciplines are taught such as ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop. Absolutely no dance experienced needed…. just join us and have fun getting in shape. You know what they say, “Dancing Helps Us Stay Young at Heart!”

Irish Dance Lessons
Have you always been fascinated by Irish dance shows like Riverdance? You
can learn the art of Irish stepdancing now! Learn basic through advanced
movements as well as solo dances. Dancers will learn reels, slip jigs, and
light jigs. In addition, the class will cover group choreography and
modern Irish show choreography! Come join us!

Musical Theatre
Is your inability to either sing or dance holding you back? Musical theater directors today are looking for actors who can both sing and dance. If you want to be a triple threat, then the Dance and Cheer’s new Musical Theater class is for you. Bring your singing or dancing talent and we’ll teach you the rest. Students will learn simple choreography to dance while singing Broadway classics. All levels welcome.
